SKI MOUNTAINEERING COURSE
SKI MOUNTAINEERING COURSE FOR BEGINNERS
This type of course is aimed at all those who want to learn how to move in the winter mountain environment. It will take place in the splendid Dolomite context of the Fiemme and Fassa valleys, according to the snow conditions and safety of the slopes. Both uphill and downhill progressions will be taught, as well as the assessment of dangers and use of equipment, including avalanche self-rescue equipment.
Complete beginners, but also people who already know ski mountaineering can take part in the course, as long as they have a minimum level of confidence with skiing on the slopes.
WHEN: Saturday 16 December and Sunday 17 December.
LEVEL REQUIRED: even without ski mountaineering experience, but with average skills
on the slope
NUMBER OF PEOLE: min 3, maX 8 people.
EQUIPMENT REQUIRED: Complete ski mountaineering kit (skis, bindings, boots, skins, poles) The use of the ARVA (electronic device for burial in avalanche) is also foreseen
PROGRAMM:
Sabato 16 Dicembre
Meeting in Predazzo at Salewa mountain shop in Val di Fiemme, at 8.30am. Transfer to the start of an easy ski mountaineering excursion of easy technical level. Presentation of the course, display of personal material with a brief introduction to the use of materials. Excursion with teaching of basic ascent and descent techniques.
Domenica 17 Dicembre
Easy technical level ski mountaineering excursion. Learning ascent and descent techniques, with introduction of the various types of curves. Introduction to the use of avalanche research equipment (ARVA).
